Tankless water heaters

Tankless water heater installation and service in Gallatin, TN

We install tankless water heaters, flush and descale them, and track down the error codes that leave you without hot water. Michael, the licensed plumber who owns the company, does that work himself, and Jennifer handles the scheduling.

Installing a tankless water heater

A tankless heater hangs on the wall and heats water as you use it. Installing one means new gas and water piping to the unit, plus venting. In July 2025 Michael installed an A.O. Smith 199,000 BTU tankless unit on a garage wall. In March 2026 he installed a Navien tankless heater in Gallatin for a family that wanted to cut their energy costs.

If you're thinking about switching from a tank, call and talk it through with Michael first. He will look at where your current heater sits and what the gas, water and venting will need, and tell you whether tankless makes sense for your house.

Why tankless heaters need a yearly flush

Minerals in the water build up inside a tankless heater over time. That scale cuts efficiency and wears the unit out early. We recommend flushing your tankless water heater once a year to remove the buildup, keep it running well, and help it last.

A flush is also a good time to check the heater's maintenance valves, which are where we hook up the pump and hoses. In Gallatin we have added maintenance valves to a tankless system during a descale, and replaced leaking ones on another.

  • Removes mineral and scale buildup
  • Keeps the heater running efficiently
  • Helps the unit last longer
  • Helps head off costly repairs and cold showers

What a tankless flush involves

Michael closes the maintenance valves to isolate the heater, hooks a pump and hoses to the valve ports, and circulates a descaling solution through the unit to break up the mineral scale. Then he flushes it clean, reopens the valves and runs hot water to make sure the heater fires and holds temperature.

In Gallatin in January 2026, a customer told us their tankless heater wasn't performing like it used to. It needed descaling. After the service, the heater was back to full efficiency. A heater that has never been flushed may take longer to bring back, and an old one may have worn parts that a flush won't fix. Michael will tell you what he finds.

Error codes and no hot water

Tankless heaters show an error code when something is wrong. Some codes are simple. On one call, a heater was showing code 11, and Michael got it running again by replacing the igniter.

Others need more digging. In Gallatin in July 2026, a 15-year-old Noritz unit was making no hot water and showing Error Code 16 after a recent cleaning. Michael diagnosed the fault, checked the overall condition of the unit, and went over repair and replacement options with the homeowner so they could decide.

As tankless heaters age, parts wear out. Regular maintenance matters, but sometimes a repair is needed too. Michael will tell you which it is.
